Detroit property owners pay two bills to the city: summer taxes are due by August 31 (a partial-payment option splits it into August 15 and January 15 halves) and winter taxes are due by January 15. Unpaid real property taxes are transferred to the Wayne County Treasurer for delinquent collection each March 1.
