Health officials in Michigan have reported a significant number of cyclosporiasis cases. As of a recent report, the total number of cases has surpassed 11,000. These cases have resulted in hospitalizations, with nearly 200 people receiving inpatient care.

Unfortunately, two individuals with pre-existing health conditions have died, possibly due to complications from the illness. Further information about the outbreak can be found through state health officials, who note that cyclosporiasis is typically not life-threatening and deaths from the illness are rare in the US.
